Cruz Hits Trump Below the Belt With ‘Fat Bastard’ Tweet
The vitriol between Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump and Ted Cruz has just gone to another level. In a recent tweet prior to the Nevada caucus, Ted Cruz (R-TX) compared The Donald to Austin Powers’ villain, Fat Bastard. Trump tells anyone who will listen – so everyone? – that Cruz is a despicable liar, who cheated to win the Iowa caucus. He’s even used the word disgusting to describe Cruz. Apparently, Cruz has had enough of Trump’s insults and took his response to Twitter.
Cruz shared the above Tweet with his 800K followers after Trump said the following:— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) February 24, 2016
“I’ve met much tougher people than Ted Cruz,” the GOP frontrunner told his supporters. “He is like a baby compared to some of the people I have to deal with. He is like a little baby: soft, weak, little baby by comparison.”The Tweet has been “liked” and retweeted over 2,000 times. And while there are similarities between Trump and Fat Bastard’s skin color, hair color, and temperament, Fat Bastard does have a couple of pounds on the Republican frontrunner. For his part, Trump seemed nonplussed by the Tweet. But he did continue attacking Cruz right up until voting ended in the Nevada caucus yesterday.
With Trump’s favorite punching bag, Jeb Bush, now out of the presidential race, he’s turned his attention solely to attacking Cruz. He has yet to start in on Republican darling, Marco Rubio (R-FL), but said that could come in due time. “I’ve been very nice to Rubio, because he hasn’t hit me. When he does, you will see what happens,” said Trump on Tuesday. We are waiting with bated breath.
