#MannequinChallenge Sweeps the Internet and Good Lawd Prepare to Be Amazed

Joining in a long line of noteworthy internet crazes – like the Ice Bucket Challenge, planking, or dog shaming – 2016 will likely go down as the year of the “#MannequinChallenge.” What is that, you ask?
Well, by most accounts it’s a video of individuals freezing/posing in strange positions. As the videographer moves around, the subjects remain frozen, like mannequins in a department store. Sports Illustrated believes this tweet from October 26 was the first official “challenge”:

Since that initial tweet, thousands more like it have been shared at schools, places of work, and even professional sports teams have jumped in on the latest obsession which internet denizens hope will turn them into an instant celebrity.
