Have You Seen My Husband? Wife’s Hilarious Lost-and-Found Tag Is a Hit for Husband Who Never Travels
There are few worse feelings than when you lose something and can’t remember where you put it. Especially if it’s something you truly care about. But what do you do when the thing you care about most is at risk of losing itself? You prepare, the same way Kim Gip did when her husband was preparing to go on his first trip without her in 23 years.
Now it remains to be seen if Gip’s husband, Mr. Jim Gip, loses track of himself often, but his wife decided she could avoid the matter entirely by just creating a handy tool to remind him (and those around him) who he was. What started as a prank on her husband resulted in a lanyard for Gip to wear on his vacation. The lanyard read: “My name is Jim, if I look lost, please call my wife Kim Gip. If I am in a restaurant just staring at the menu, please order me some sort of Asian food, especially white rice. I’ve never been away from my wife who does everything for me.” Gip’s son Brandon, after receiving a photo of the finished lanyard, posted it on Twitter, where it quickly went viral.
“My mom and her friend Patty came up with a funny idea to make the name tag thing as a joke,” Brandon wrote in a statement to ABC News. “My mom then texted me a picture of it and I thought it was hilarious. Not knowing my tweet would go viral, I didn’t blur out my mom’s phone number because I was expecting no more than 50 likes, which turns out to be nearly 70k now.” Despite the phone number being visible and Kim Gip’s receiving a few unexpected calls, the Gips are happy the photo has made some laugh. “But the tweet going viral onto Facebook and Instagram is still a shock to all of us,” said Brandon. “Besides the fact my mom’s phone has gone off the hook, we are starting to enjoy the reality of it as people think the tweet is entertaining.” It seems many people agree with the lanyard not only being hilarious, but being necessary. Good job, Mrs. Gip, that’s how you make sure you don’t lose your belongings.
