Halloween is about to get a little more terrifying. There is a new trend this fall and it isn’t pumpkin spice lattes. It’s the “Trumpkin.”
What is the Trumpkin, you ask? Well, it’s a large pumpkin carved or drawn on to resemble republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, usually in a mocking manner.
The Trumpkin first appeared last year from pumpkin artist Jeanette Paras, of Dublin, Ohio. Her 374-pound pumpkin featured a painting of a sour-faced Trump with hair on top. Her portrayal of the candidate instantly went viral and has now started a trend.
While Paras’ annual project features whomever is prominent in the media at the time, it seems the public just won’t get over Trump and how good his orange complexion looks on pumpkins.
There are many ways to create your own Trumpkin. From carving his angry face and beady eyes, to simply putting a wig on top with a small hole for where the mouth would be – really any interpretation will work.
A word of caution though, your Trumpkin may be susceptible to frequently interrupting other pumpkins, demanding their birth certificates, and participating in discriminatory “locker room talk.”
If you need some inspiration with your Trumpkin, check out some examples below!
